You will work in teams to
create a UTOPIAN society that has
characteristics of
In the creation of your civilization,
you should cover geography, beliefs and technology. These are the minimum
requirements.
You will be given one class
period to turn the room into your civilization. Your group will sign up for a
day, come after school (or before school if it’s a Wednesday) and transform P6
into your UTOPIA.
In the morning, the time
travelers (our class) will enter a new world, one that you have created. You
will direct the activities during that class period. The goal is for your
guests to deeply experience your ancient civilization. You choose how to best
do this. You have 20-30 minutes.
Consider how we, as a class,
have learned about civilizations this year. Video? Text? Skits? Simulations?
Discussion? Quizzes? Games? Primary source documents? Artifacts? The possibilities are huge!
Think about how we might
“tour” your civilization. How will you set up the room? What will the physical
space look like? What customs must we observe?
·
What materials
will you need?
·
How will divide
up the work?
·
When will you meet
outside of class?
·
What role will
each of you play?
·
What props will
you need?
Be creative! Be bold, Be
original, Have fun!
