Character Interview

 

If you are having trouble getting started with your story, use this sheet to help you create a strong character for your story who is believable and your reader (and you, the writer) can care about.  The answers to these questions may lead you to create a plot, as most stories are about a character and how his or her “Burning Questions” are answered and how problems that arise are solved or new conflicts created.

                

1.      Name (does it have a special meaning or history?)

2.    Age

3.    Describe how you look

4.    Where do you live; describe your home

5.    Describe your family (Name key family members)

6.    What do you enjoy doing?

7.    What makes you unique?

8.    What matters to you?  (What/whom do you care about?)

9.    What do you fear?

10.                        What are your dreams?

11.  How would your friends describe you?

12.                        Who are the important people in your life?

13.                        What is a problem you are facing?

14.                        What is a goal you would like to reach?

15.                         How might you change?

16.                         What might you understand about yourself and your world

           at the end of the story?  What are some possibilities?
