The golden Wok out of 4 stars:

I walk in to the golden wok with an interest into what the food will be like. The first thing that hits me is the families. Little kids shout “It’s Nemo!” as they look into the fish tank, while parents try to do decipher the Chinese menu. The next things I see are the meals, juicy meat more of in a pool of sauce, sizzling and soft for a tender meal. The smell comes of a tea made of special leaves leaving a bit of a minty fall. A Chinese waiter sets us at our table right by the kitchen , and my mouth waters with every door opened in the kitchen, as the aroma the of all the flavors you can think of come by. What’s even worse is that the waiters walk by with sizzling and steaming platters, making me think how much I want each one. By the time it’s eating time, every single place is out in front of me, and I don’t regret a thing.

The golden Wok of course has a Chinese feel to it. The beautiful hand cut papers on the wall make you wonder how people get so crafted to do such an art. The fish tank adds an illuminating feel, and the oh’s and ah’s of everyone tasting the rare food, is all around. You can almost hear the voices of the Chinese language from the feeling in the restaurant, or maybe that just the waiters busily taking the orders and chefs talking in the kitchen. The servers there are the normal. They will call you sir in politeness But won’t go any deeper, besides the classic saying “is everything tasting ok?”. They do help you decide on the food, and can adjust your order easily by being patient. The servers will get your drinks in less than 5 minuets and the food will take about 20 minuets.

The meals are rare, from the new sauce filled with tastes American wouldn’t even dare try to mix, and exquisitely cooked with spices that make your taste buds dance. Of course all the food is have a different taste, but my favorite taste recommended is the General Chows Chicken as it has a delicious taste and is not the spicy type, the teriyaki sauce with a little sweet in it  is great against the teriyaki like chicken, cooked in the sauce so it’s dripping in goodness, inside and out.. However, if you like flavor, then try the sweet and sour chicken. By its name the food has a peculiar taste that is just right for an evening meal. It’s soft, delicate chicken. For those looking for a zesty, spicy meal I would advice the sizzling platters. The chicken is smooth and always syrupy in sauce, some of the sauce still bubbling, with a loud noise from all the sizzles. The food there ranges in all types of meat. This place is not for a vegetarian. This place is more of a simple family meal place. Also people who like Chinese would love this place, as well as people who enjoy flavors or spice. The explosion of flavor is at a cheap price, in the $6 to the $12, but the average entrée is $9. But $9 is worth the fiery or sweetened food. But the food is always as good as golden, at the golden wok.

Nicolino, how they brought Italy to Washington

Nicolino Restaurant Review out of 4 stars:

As you stroll along the busy road, walking by cheap stores something catches you eye. You are instantly thinking of Italy, as the Aroma of Italian sauces of the many blows your way. You follow your nose, leading to a quaint beautiful café right in the middle of Issaquah. The beautifully curved blue chairs on the patio outside, the small tables for 2. In side you find not a large area. But as you sit down and read the names of the list, even though you can’t read have of them your mouth is already watering. You can just imagine the taste of your meal, angel haired pasta so tender then smothered in the most delicious Alfredo sauce with Italian cheese. You know this is one place in Washington that is Italy.

Nicolino

Nicolino is a quaint restaurant on the small side. There are very few tables to sit, and the tables usually do not sit more than 3. There can be lines there that can last for a while, as they do not take reservations. But the food there is well worth the wait. The Italian style of food really the most delicious. My favorite meal there is simply all of there types of pasta like they’re spaghetti with meatballs, the pasta smothered in a butter for a warm feel with a flavorful topping of meatballs and sauce, bright red from the fresh potatoes, but others said they liked the pizza and the chicken, the  delicate chicken still sizzling when served with a crisp layer of brown skin on the top, seasoned with a white sauce and herbs to add a little spice, or the pizza with the homemade bread fresh with a airy inside, the tomato sauce ripe with cheese sprinkled on top melted with perfection. From an appetizer of fresh bread with an oily, pucker vinegar tasting sauce, to the Fettuccine of tenderly cooked pasta with a cheesy sauce so well made that it tastes like a piece if heaven. They specialize in pasta and chicken (of course pizza too) but the things that make these meals special are the sauces. All of Nicholas sauces are the key ingredient in there success.

Just as good as the food, are the servers who bring it. The servers there are great, they will check up on you many times to see how you’re doing, like a typical waiter. They can offer opinions and the food, and describe all the food in detail. I found the waiters a big help when deciding. They are also kid friendly, though you won’t find many kids there. This is more of a place for adults on romantic dinners, though just going being a kid is just as good. These people also have to have a fair amount of time on their hand, as the gourmet meals take a while to cook and the lines can be huge. You also have to have an amount of cash with you, because the dinners are a little pricey. Italian lovers would love this place too, but anyone who even slightly enjoys eating would feel like home here.

The café does have a home feeling. A beautiful painting on the wall adds theme, as the window sills are cluttered with the most interesting objects. The curly black small chairs make you feel in Italy as the street outside brings you home. They do have an outside deck which is the greatest to sit in and bathe in sun close to summer, but the view is a parking lot and a road losing some of the feel to the Italian place. There is always a warm dim of talking to the area as the cooking sounds are completely drowned out. The candles lit at dinner match the dim perfectly, making the perfect meal complete.

The Mongolian Grills Review out of 4 stars:

As you walk in the Mongolian grill, you are instantly hungry by the heavy sizzling near by. The Mongolian style only provokes the thought of heavy flavored foreign food. You follow you nose to the meals being handed out, with a faint feel in your head. All around are families chatting, and laughing at the fortune cookies before they gruesomely gobble them up. You slide in a cushioned seat, merrily staring up at the curving lights, winding like a dragon. The relaxation continues the gurgling of a water fountain, the water trickling a long the sides of the ball adding a mystery to the atmosphere. You choose your meal and wait for your meal. When it’s here, the heavy sauce against the warm pasta delicately cooked with the topping of your choice is like a piece of heaven.

The Mongolian Grill

The first thing I noticed about this place was the food!!! You get in a line with a bowl and go down many many topping platters, to put on top of some pasta of your choice. You then mix the meal with some meat of your choice and is put on the huge grill!! Once it’s grilled you pick a sauce to put on top and your meal is served. I think this is a great system, but that means there’s only one thing on the menu with hundreds of variations. I like that teriyaki sauce with chicken, but it’s fun to try something new each time if you are daring You also in this case get the exact meal you want, and the meals are just so delicious!!! The sweetness of a sauce with the delicious bites of your favorite food once in a while, topped on a cooked beautifully pasta, is perfect. Or the Spicy sauce with angel hair pasta slithers around in your mouth along with the sweetness of one of my favorite toppings, pineapple. Or another favorite is the sour sauce with pasta the sourness adding a sour taste to the pasta and topping making everything delicious. There is usually not a long line, and they do not take reservations. They also do not have a waiters, it’s just get food and seat yourself. The staff is still very friendly, though they can be hard to understand as they are from the country itself, Mongolia! So if you like Mongolian food you should come here. This is also a place for families looking for a simple flavorful dinner out. You do have to be ready for some good food, but this would NOT be the place for a romantic fancy dinner. But, you don’t have to be rich or in hurry, as the food is fast served and the food is on the cheap side. But is still nice to have a while to enjoy the food and the happy atmosphere. They do have the winding lights above, like you could imagine a train riding a long them, winding like a dragon. Or the mysterious water fountain where the water sticks to the ball while pouring down. The red and yellow walls make you in a happy feeling like you could believe anything in this restaurant. As the sound of loud sizzling fills the room you cheerful, and know that the sizzling sound of the Mongolian grill can fix anything.
