Space Case Meets . . .

By Vicki Huang

Imagine meeting Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams, Academy Award- winning American actor and comedian) at a museum, playing fetch with a T-Rex, and get shot by mini bullets on the same day. Larry Daley does a great job making everyone in the theater laugh.

Pushed by his ex-wife and son, space case Larry Daley (Ben Stiller “Dodge Ball”, “Meet the Fockers”) finally gets a job at The Museum of Natural History. Larry finds that he’s in for a surprise.

Larry meets the amazing Lewis and Clark, hideous cavemen, and a cuddly monkey. Everyone tries to get along but doesn’t succeed until a mysterious king finally pulls them all together. In this movie, animals and “small people” come alive. Larry goes through an exciting adventure in and out of the museum trying to save a mysterious tablet. This tablet is the item that’s fought over and explains how history becomes more than a little bit alive.

“Night at the Museum” is a great family movie and tells kids that getting along and trusting each other can work miracles as well as provide blissful surprises.

This movie is directed by Shawn Levy who has also directed the movies “Cheaper by the Dozen”, “Big Fat Liar”, and “Pink Panther”. “Night at the Museum” has a hilarious and satisfying ending. This movie also shows mild action and great animation.

Jumping Pigs, Talking Spiders, What More Would You Ask For?

By Vicki Huang

Ever wondered what your life would be like when you knew you were going to be killed and eaten? An extraordinary spider helps a radiant pig devour attention and survive.

In the movie “Charlotte’s Web”, the Arable family lives in the country and owns a farm. Wilbur (Dominic Scott Kay, who starred in “Lover boy”, “The Wild”, “Minority Report”) is one of the farm animals, but is a pig runt. Fern, daughter of Mrs. Arable, saves Wilbur and raises him until the day he’s sold.

Moving into a new farm, he meets a spider named Charlotte (Julia Roberts, who has also voiced “The Ant Bully”). Wilbur is surprised that he will be killed for food, and Charlotte’s friendship gets him out of trouble.

This movie reminds everyone how friends are there for each other no matter what happens. “Charlotte’s Web” is based on the Newbery Honor award book.

The director of this movie is Gary Winick. Gary Winick has also directed “13 Going On 30, “Tadpole”, and more. Charlotte’s Web shows great animation and touches children’s hearts.
