The Asgroth Gems

n the lonely island a boy was about to meet his destiny. Young 12 year old Seth, who had white hair and usually wore a blue robe, was just out for some early morning spell casting (he is a magician) when his mother came looking for him.

“Seth,” she yelled “it’s time for school.”

“Fine,” Seth said back.

He was never late for school because he could teleport there with magic. During lunch he sat down at a table with his friend Shaste. Nobody sat near them because Seth had white hair, which in there Island is the sign that Motak the ice god had cursed you.

They where just minding there own business when out of nowhere Borath the half serpent. Who had green slits of eyes and a long snout and tale not to mention he had scales all over him, walked up and stared at Seth with his green merciless eyes.

“Never come back to sssssssssschool. Go back to where you belong, filthy white hair.” He hissed

Now half serpents where the royal blood of  Lord Desiakal the ruler of the Island so there was no point in seeking help from a teacher.  Borath hates white hair. thought Seth, he probably wants to get rid of me.  The only thing he could do was fight, but before he could do anything Borath sent a staggering blow to the chest. Seth was flung off his chair and onto the ground. Lucky for him Shaste was very skilled in fighting and had taken down Borath before Seth could regain his balance.

Borath had leapt up and hit Shaste in a full force ram sending him flying into a bench. At that moment Seth jumped up and cast a spell as fast as he could, three fireballs came hurtling out of his palm and sped toured Borath. One nailed him in the stomach, the second hit him in the claw, and in a desperate attempt to block the hit he held up both claws in a cross in front of him. But it didn’t work and the fireball crashed into his face and he fell down unconscious and something bounced out of his pocket and then he started to transform into a normal human. “What the?” exclaimed Shaste.

When they walked over to him they found a blue gem. the gem of water thought Seth. He had heard about it in history class. It said if you find all three of the asgroth gems you will give the world life. The more Seth thought about it he realized that crops had been small and trees withering and dieing. “I know my destiny, Shaste,” Seth said solemnly. “What?” asked Shaste “I have to find the three asgroth gems,” said Seth

“WHAT!” exclaimed Shaste “you can’t, you’ll leave your family and the village behind!.”

“But I must, have you see the crops and the trees, the village has shunned me anyway.”

“ fine, but I will come too, I know where they are.” “Ok meet me at the dock.”

Seth had been waiting for a while before Shaste came. He nodded and snuck onto a cargo ship, and to his surprise nobody noticed them. The night wind was violent and the ship tossed and turned in the black water. Twice had Seth almost fallen into the water, each time Shaste had pulled him from being engulfed buy the hungry, black ocean.\

Finally, after what seemed like forever they hit an island. Finally we’re here. the ruin isle where we’ll find the Gems  . Thought Seth they entered the small town and bought a room at the inn. That night Seth woke Shaste and they strode off into the night.

The great temple of Goro was a lot bigger than he imagined, and even bigger on the inside. The walls where grimy with age. The ceiling was cracked and dripping water. It looked like an easy journey but he had judged it too soon. They had but only entered the temple when a gigantic Golem appeared

“Look out!” yelled Seth as Shaste jumped out of the way of a mighty punch. Seth was casting as fast as he could then a large bolt of lighting enveloped the Golem. When they could see again there was a pile of rubble

“now we’re even,” said Seth. As they walked down the tunnel they saw a glinting light around the corner

“We’re here,” whispered Shaste.

When they turned the corner all of a sudden rocks lifted under them and they flew into the air. A sorcerer who seemed to glide over the ground in a black robe said in a voice that echoed in an eerie way said “Leave now or die!” “I have come for the gems ,” said Seth trying not to let his voice quiver. With astonishing speed the sorcerer leapt back and cast a spell. A huge black spear appeared in his hand he hurtled it at Seth he created a magical force field and fired his own spell. Out of his palm three orbs one red, one blue, and one yellow flew at the sorcerer but he blocked them. Right as the Sorcerer let his guard down Shaste leapt at the Sorcerer and sent an earth shattering blow to his chest. But he had already sent a bolt of black lighting at Seth who failed to block and fell to the ground. The last thing he saw before he was plunged into darkness, was Shaste, triumphantly holding up the Asgroth gems.

When Seth returned to consciousness he was in his nice soft bed with his parents and Shaste looking down at him.

“When you where hit with that bolt of lighting you blacked out,” said Shaste. “I told everyone about how you saved me and defeated the Sorcerer. Seth got out of bed and looked at the fields, all the crops where tall and all the trees in the orchard had lots of ripe fruit

“Wow,” exclaimed Seth and he walked proudly back to his house.  As he walked back to his house he wondered what his next adventure would be. For now he would just practice.
