As soon as you
enter Bamiyan, you taste
the aroma of
many spices, for Paprika to Basil.
You see many
people laughing and talking,
while enjoying
a simply delicious meal! The server
asks you what you
would like to order…
You don’t know
what to order?! Well, let me help
you deicide…
For starters,
I recommend a dish called,
Bolani, a
magnificent platter with warm, crispy
potatoes
filled to the top with scallion, onions,
and an assortment
of spices, with smells beyond
your wildest
dreams! Bolani is absolutely the #1
choice for a
starter.
If you’re
wondering about entrees, I’ve got
some recommendations
that will help you decide…
Most of the
entrees will either have lamb, steak,
or chicken. I
recommend one of the chicken dishes,
Murgh Kebabs. The
name may sound funny, but the
dish is so
rich with spices and flavor! Murgh Kebabs is a tantalizing blend of sweet,
tangy chicken, vegetables grilled to perfection, and to top it all off, a
heaping helping of Basmati rice!!! Mmmm…
Another dish
is one of the steak family, the name is in Afghani, but it means Steak Stew.
Although the dish seems like beans and rice, with some steak in it, the dish
really has tons of steak, it’s just blended to look like the beans. The flavor
is sensational! You get that rustic taste, with the beans, but then that exotic
feel with the steak and rice.
Bamiyan has
quite a selection of drinks, from sodas, like Sprite and Coke, to juice, like
They deserts
are too die for!! Your best bet would probably
be the Ice Cream, rich and creamy, plus, a different flavor all the time!
The staff at
Bamiyan is nice, but can get confused and slow at times. They make up for that
though, by being extremely friendly and giving you plenty of recommendations
when you have those tough decisions on what to get.
What I’m
trying to say is, if you like food jam-packed full of spices, a nice quiet
place, and generally great service, Bamiyan is the restaurant for you!!!!
