Stormbreaker

By Anthony Horowitz

The opening paragraph grabs the reader’s attention.

Imagine you were told your uncle, who is like a father to you, had died in a car crash? What would you do if when you see the wreckage, there were bullet holes in the windshield? I would be scared to death.

The title and author are worked in naturally

This all happed to Alex Rider, the main character in Anthony Horowitz’s Stormbreaker. Alex is called to finish his uncle’s (Ian Rider’s) spy work. He is to take the place of Felix, a boy who won a contest to met Herod Sayle. Herod is a man that is making a generous gift by giving every classroom in the U.S. a Stormbreaker computer. The spy agency that sends Alex, MI6, has strong suspicions about the computers and Sayle.

The overall idea and plot are discussed, without giving away the ending

When Alex arrives, he gets into a lot of trouble because he is snooping around. He is trying to see what is wrong with the computers. From what he sees and hears, he starts to have doubts about the computers too. He is following the steps and going to the places that he knows his uncle used. He starts to realize why his uncle was in so much danger.

Describe one exciting incident in detail

Alex is going for a walk when to men on motorcycle type vehicles are trying to KILL him. They try numerous times using different methods from machine guns to cheese grating string! It made my hand start to sweat. I was scared myself!

End the review with your opinion and recommendation

People how love adventure and action stories would love this book. It is a page turner, so it would also be good for people who like to read a lot at once. Stormbreaker is definitely worth reading. From a scale of one to ten, it gets at least an eight in my opinion. If this book won an award, it would defiantly be worth the talk. If people don’t like action stories though, they probable won’t like it because there are a lot of intense parts. Overall, I think that Stormbreaker was a great book.
