Eldest
By Christopher Paolini
Review by Josh
Imagine being the only person in the entire world who can stop an evil dictator who is bent on destroying your homeland and enslaving every one you know. In the world Christopher Paolini creates in Eldest Eragon must fight to survive the evil wrath of the king of Algaesia.
In Eldest sequel to Eragon the
main character had just fought a great battle against the kings army. And now
was being sent to complete his training with the elves where he would learn how
to control magic and new ways to use it. Once his training was completed he was
sent by the Varden (a rebel force against the king)
to go and fight in the battle on the
Eragon glanced over at the battle field from his perch on the high hill. He could see that Galbatorix’s forces were wreaking havoc on the Varden with huge catapults hurling flaming balls of fire. If the Varden wanted to win the war then there only hope was that some one could stop those giant war machines. Then an idea sparked in Eragons mind. He slowly took control of each soldier’s brain that was directing the catapult he then forced them to attack Galbatorix’s army instead of the Varden. That’s when he noticed another dragon in the sky and dread swept over him. Unless the king had gotten another one of the eggs to hatch the only other rider that existed was the king himself.
People who like good fantasy will spend the extra hours at night to get to the last page. I personally thought that it was a really good book and a lot of the people that I know who read also really liked it.
