Warriors: Into the Wild
By Erin Hunter
Review by Kylie
Imagine,
living in a world where all you have are your allies, and your wits. It’s all
or nothing in the world of the clans. Everything is at stake, and no one is
safe. You must fight for your survival. If something goes wrong, it turns into
a disaster, you must play your cards right, if you want to see tomorrow.
Brambleclaw, a noble warrior of Thunderclan,
the main character of Erin Hunter’s, Sunset, must choose between his clan,
which raised him from a kit, or his kin, Hawkfrost.
The time has come for Brambleclaw to choose. It may
be the most important choice of his life, one that will effect
all the cats in the forest.
In Sunset, Brambleclaw has to make some tough choices. For clan, love, and honor. Thunderclan
is regrouping from a badger attack, but they must watch out from the threats of
Shadowclan and Hawkfrost. Hawkfrost is a vicious warrior who is trying to rule the
forest. In his quest for power, he seeks help from his half- brother, Brambleclaw. Brambleclaw will
have to choose Squirrelflight, his love, or his kin.
In the climax of the book, his time comes to choose. What will be the outcome?
Will Brambleclaw rule the clans with his brother, or
will he overcome his kinship and make the decision for his clan?
One of the best parts in the
book is when Brambleclaw visits his father, the once
bloodthirsty ruler, Tigerstar in a spirit world, in a
place other than Starclan. In a page in Sunset Hunter
describes the meeting place of Brambleclaw. “The sky
above Brambleclaw was dark, but the sickly glow of
fungus guided his paws along the path. Shadowy ferns brushed his fur with damp,
sticky fronds, Every hair on his pelt prickled as he
bounded toward the meeting place…. As Brambleclaw
emerged from the trees, Hawkfrost sprang to his paws
and raced toward him. “Brambleclaw!” he exclaimed.
“Where have you been? …“Greetings.” Tigerstar‘s amber gaze pinned Brambleclaw
like an eagle‘s talon. “You have not been here for nearly a quarter moon. If you want power, you must commit yourself totally-
every hair, every claw, every drop of blood. Anything
less is weakness.” Tigerstar is seeking revenge on Firestar, Thunderclan’s leader.
Although he is not alive he is using his sons as puppets to force a rebellion
on Firestar.
This book is filled with action, adventure,
mystery, and a pinch of romance. It is sure to make you excited, sad, and awed.
I must warn you though. This book is the last in a series, and you should read
Warriors, the prequel series to this, and the rest of the Warriors The New Prophecy books.
This book is a guaranteed favorite for all readers who
love adventure and action! I know you will love this book as much as I did!
