  1. Parents, call in all absences to Jan at (425) 837-5701 by first period.

For 1 or 2 day absences, parents should call, email or write a note to the attendance secretary, preferably in advance. Students should communicate directly with their teachers, as appropriate.

Absences of 3 or more days must be prearranged 3-5 school days in advance.  See handbook for details.

What Is An Excused Absence?

Regular school attendance is necessary for mastery of the educational program provided students.  Daily attendance and active participation in each class are critical parts of the learning process.  Students, at times, may appropriately be absent from class. 

Excused absences (School Day and Individual Classes) are absences due to:

  • An illness or a health condition
  • A religious observance, when requested by a student’s parent.
  • School-approved activities.
  • Family emergencies.
  • Required court proceedings.
  • With prior administrator permission, family trips.
  • And, as required by law, disciplinary actions or short-term suspensions.
  1. EARLY DISMISSALS must be prearranged.
    Students:
          Bring a signed note to the office before first period.
          Report to the office when it is time to leave.
                  Students are expected to self-manage their appointments, we do not call them down.

          If you return to school later in the day, sign back in.
    Parents:
          Please come into the office to sign out your student.
     

  2. LATE ARRIVALS: All students must sign in at the front office. A note or call from a parent/guardian is required. See above for a list of excused absences/tardies.
     

  3. ALL MEDICATIONS must be administered through the nurses office. This includes Cough Drops, Vitamins, Acetaminophin, etc. and must be delivered by a parent/guardian.
     

  4. ELECTRONIC DEVICES (other than USB Flash Media configured for school use) including iPods, music players, PDAs, electronic games, etc. are not allowed on campus at any time. This includes the time before, during and after school.

    a) If electronic devices are required for educational use, students may apply for permission. If granted, signed paperwork must be kept with the device at all times.

    b) Cellular phones are allowed, but are discouraged. From the start of classes through the end of 6th period, including lunch, phones must be:

    •  Turned off

    •  Stored securely in the student's regular locker (not PE locker)

    •  Not in the possession of a student.
       

  5. Students may use the telephone in the office before and after school and during lunch.  A pay phone is available in the Gym Foyer when the office is closed.
     

  6. BUS PASSES must be requested at the start of the school day and are only available for routes that are not operating at full capacity. The request should be handwritten by the parent/guardian and include:

    •  The date the pass is being requested for

    •  Your student's name

    •  The name of the student your child will be traveling with.

    •  The bus route number
       

  7. Drop off, pickup and parking is limited. Please plan accordingly and do not park in the fire or bus lanes.
     

  8. Personal items, lunches and messages are NOT DELIVERED TO STUDENTS during school hours. Please make arrangements ahead of time or leave items on the "drop off" table in the office.
     

  9. We use Love and Logic principals to help students learn from their mistakes.
